Karen Phillipps to present at Watertech 2010, Fairmont Banff Springs
Intrinsik Scientist, Karen Phillipps will be presenting a session entitled ‘Human Health Risk Assessment - An Emerging Issue in Municipal Wastewater’ during the 3rd Annual Watertech Symposium, April 21-23 2010 in Fairmont Banff Springs.
The event involves a two-day technical program consisting of a minimum of 30 platform presentations grouped into sessions chaired by leaders in environmental remediation , research and applications relating to water.
The program will be developed from abstracts collected from across North America. A full listing of abstracts and presenter biographies will be available in the near future from their website at http://www.esaa-events.com/watertech/default.htm.
In addition to the detailed technical program, Watertech 2010 will also include various networking sessions, keynote speakers, a welcoming reception and an expanded commercial exhibition area.

Intrinsik on "Alberta's Oil Magazine" List of Top Energy Innovators
Intrinsik Environmental Sciences Inc. was recently mentioned in an article called "Innovation Nation" from the magazine "Alberta’s Oil" in early February 2010.
Intrinsik Environmental Science has been named as "Environmental Toxicology Specialists." Author-Gordon Jaremko further describes Instrinsik as a "21 year old pioneer of independent project impact assessments." The article discusses the firm’s involvement in Alberta's Industrial Heartland district, with being able to have lead over 10 projects in that area. Intrinsik continues to have a strong impact in Canada’s oil and gas sector, with projects located across the country and internationally. Dr. Dwayne Moore to participate at SETAC workshop
Dr. Dwayne Moore, is an invited participant in the Society of Environmental Toxicologists and Chemists (SETAC) Pellston workshop titled "Problem Formulation for Ecological Risk Assessments: A SETAC Pellston Workshop". Being held in Pensacola, Florida from April 18-23, 2010.
Participants included leaders from academia, industry, and regulatory agencies. After a week of debate and collaborative technical writing, workshop attendees are charged to publish the workshop findings. Intrinsik Senior Scientist will be Plenary Speaker at Laurentian SETAC Annual Meeting
Ruth Hull, Senior Scientist in the Mississauga office, will be a plenary speaker at the upcoming Annual Meeting of the Laurentian Chapter of SETAC. The meeting, which will take place June 4th in Niagara-on-the-Lake, has the theme "Totally Stressed Out: Multiple Stressors in our Environment". Intrinsik Senior Scientist is Participating in the International Workshop on Quantitative Structure-Activity Relationships (QSARs)
The International Workshop on Quantitative Structure-Activity Relationships will be held in Montreal, Canada on May 24th to May 28th 2010, in which as a theme of QSARs and Toxicokinetics. Intrinsik Associate to attend International Conference on Health, Safety and Environment in Oil and Gas Exploration and Production
Intrinsik Associate Erica Myles will be attending the Society of Petroleum Engineers’ International Conference on Health, Safety and Environment in Oil and Gas Exploration and Production in Rio de Janeiro Brazil, 12-14 April, 2010.
This conference is recognized as the oil and gas industry’s premier conference on health, safety, and environment. The theme of the 2010 conference, “Facing New Challenges With Best Practices and Innovative Thinking,” fits with Intrinsik’s experience and expertise in the oil and gas industry and their/our progressive new approach in community health assessment. Dr. Donald Davies to present at SOT Annual Meeting, Salt Lake City, March, 2010
Dr Donald Davies, Senior Vice-President and Principal of Intrinsik Environmental Sciences Inc. will be presenting posters relating to sour gas and toxicological reference values at the Society of Toxicology’s 49th Annual Meeting in Salt Lake City, 7-11 March, 2010.
The Society of Toxicology (SOT) Annual Meeting is the largest toxicology meeting and exhibition in the world, attracting more than 6,500 scientists from industry, academia, and government from various countries around the globe. The program includes several plenary and other special lectures, symposia, workshops, roundtable discussions, and platform and poster presentations.

Dr. Dwayne Moore of Intrinsik Ottawa to teach course on "Screening and Refined Methods for Estimating Risk to Aquatic Life and Wildlife"
Vice President and Senior Scientist, Dr. Dwayne Moore of Intrinsik’s Ottawa office will be teaching a course entitled ”Screening and Refined Methods for Estimating Risk to Aquatic Life and Wildlife” during the Pesticide Ecological Modelling Course. Organized by Stone Environmental Inc. this course will take place at Regal Sun Resort, Downtown Disney, Lake Buena Vista, Florida - February 10 - 12, 2010.
The course will focus on models and methodologies that are typically used to assess the risk of pesticide exposure in the environment. All instructors have successfully taught modelling methodology and performed sophisticated pesticide risk assessments for over 20 years. Their backgrounds represent a variety of disciplines including ecotoxicology, chemistry, ecology, biomathematics, statistics, hydrology, and agricultural engineering. Course material will thus be presented from many different points of view. The course will teach non-modellers to reproduce and interpret pesticide environmental risk assessments.
