Intrinsik Environmental Sciences Inc. (Intrinsik Environmental) is a science-based consulting firm specializing in providing expert advice to a wide range of clients on toxicology issues related to human health, the environment and regulatory affairs. Through its diverse and highly qualified staff of professionals, Intrinsik Environmental can provide extensive expertise in the areas of human health and ecological risk assessment, mammalian and aquatic toxicology, environmental fate and transport modeling, exposure assessment, risk communication and integrated risk management. From our four offices across Canada, Intrinsik Environmental has successfully addressed the toxicological and risk management needs of clients around the world.
Cantox Inc. was first formed in 1985 by a group of four young scientists (Ian C. Munro, Robert F. Willes, Harold Grice and Clifford Chappel). Cantox grew in size and stature and became known as the top risk assessment firm in Canada. By 1998, the company recognized the need to restructure due to vast differences in internal business groups and reorganized into two separate companies, Cantox Health Sciences International and Cantox Environmental Inc.
The scientific staff at Intrinsik Environmental are top notch and include certified experts in their fields. Our offices across Canada (Halifax, Nova Scotia; Ottawa, Ontario; Mississauga, Ontario; and Calgary, Alberta) are staffed by more than 25 highly qualified professionals with degrees in a number of scientific disciplines, including, toxicology, aquatic toxicology, environmental toxicology, biology and environmental sciences. We have considerable expertise in toxicological, exposure and risk assessment techniques for human and ecological receptors in both terrestrial and aquatic environments. Our staff is extremely knowledgeable of federal, state, and provincial air, sediment and soil quality guidelines, objectives and criteria, and the procedures employed by various Canadian, American and European government agencies to develop these values.
